Green Backed Hours

As this idea of a Co-Housing University swam around in my head, I was also thinking about creating a alternative currency. I thought of how an alternative currency could be used to promote and fund the Co-Housing University, then could be used as a way for the community to interact with the outside world. The result was a Green Backed Hour, that is a currency that is backed by green technology and human intelligence. The currency increases in value as more and more businesses like the idea and support it by accepting the Green Backed, also the value will increases as the University grows and can produce surplus goods and services that you can redeem with GB's.

You might be wondering how GB's are created or issued. Well the idea is that GB's are created and issued at the moment someone invests time or money into the CHU project, so it represents an investment into a sustainable future. So when investing you get 1 GBH for every 10 dollars or hour of your time that you invest, you can get this in paper or digital form. When you invest time or money, you not only help to grow the project, but you also get a local currency that stays local, and helps local businesses. This will probably eventually require a store front to promote the project and allow digital to paper transfers.
